The Job Field Service Engineer – Rotating Equipment

The Role of the Field Service Engineer – Rotating Equipment 

  • Role will be doing field service - servicing, inspecting and maintaining rotating equipment including steam turbines, gas compressors, centrifugal compressors, axial compressors, radial compressors, horizontal split & barrel type compressor, gearboxes and expanders etc... 

  • Once up and running can be working on their own or part of a team depending on the job size. 

  • Role is focussing heavily on the oil and gas industry both on and off shore as well as Petrochemical, Process & Manufacturing, Waste to Energy and general Power market. 

  • Due in the office rarely, when not on site the position is home based with occasional trips to the workshop. 

  • Offshore work can be 2-3 weeks at a time. 

  • Projects can be from £10k-£2million.

The Ideal Person for the Field Service Engineer – Rotating Equipment 

  • Ideally someone who has extensive experience within the industry. 

  • 5-10 years + experience doing service, repair & maintenance on rotating equipment such as Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, Compressors, Dry Gas Seals, possibly Bearings & Pumps. 

  • MUST have rotating equipment experience. 

  • Ideally a time served apprentice in mechanical fitting or a HNC + in mechanical engineering - though good time served considered. 

  • Must be able to use measurement equipment such as Vernier Callipers, Micrometres, Dial Test Indicators etc.. 

  • Ideally from an oil and gas background or related. 

  • Need to be a team player, hard working, flexible, hungry, driven, pro-active, task focussed, outgoing personality and very professional.
