The Role of the Maintenance Fitter: 

  • Maintain conveyors, elevators, compressors, and hammer mills to ensure smooth operation and prevent downtime. 

  • Perform routine maintenance checks using maintenance check sheets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. 

  • Collaborate closely with the electrical team and production team to address maintenance needs and ensure seamless operations. 

  • Join a dynamic team focused on achieving quality workmanship within demanding business constraints, prioritising minimizing downtime and maximizing production output. 

  • Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve shared goals and objectives.

The Ideal Person for the Maintenance Fitter 

  • Experienced Maintenance Fitter with relevant mechanical expertise in an industrial setting. 

  • Possesses strong analytical skills to identify and address technical issues or opportunities affecting production and quality. 

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, installation, fault finding, and repairs 

  • Computer literate with a solid understanding of hydraulics, mechanic systems, pneumatics, welding/grinding, cutting techniques, as well as maintenance of bearings, belts, chains, pumps, and gearboxes. 

  • Comfortable working outdoors and capable of taking initiative to tackle tasks independently.
