The Role of the National Sales Manager
-
Leading a team of 5/6 Reps that work within the Cardiovascular Division (Vascular Grafts, Vascular Stents, Cardiac Surgery & Drainage)

Communicate daily with the General Manager, Sales Managers, Territory Managers and members of the direct team
-
Champion the sales force effectiveness agenda for your portfolio. This includes all operational projects - CPQ, GPS Framework and GFORCE sales processes as well as quarterly business planning and pipeline management

Development of a strategic and tactical plan for your business area, to be presented twice a year to the General Manager Healthcare Sales

Responsible for ensuring the Sales and IM targets are met for the Cardiovascular portfolio

Drive the adoption of new therapies across the region including the development of key super centres and regularly feeding into the Head of Therapy Development and Global functions regarding therapy development opportunities and KOL champions.

Review, complete and submit Pricing Frameworks in conjunction with the Commercial Operations team and Business Unit Head, ensure pricing is in line with the pricing strategy for the business unit and pricing increase YOY is maintained.

Conduct regular field & coaching visits to manage and support in key accounts as well as regularly assessing and reviewing the performance of the Territory Managers;

Conduct annual appraisals of the territory managers identifying talent profiles and development plans as relevant

Submission of sales forecasts to General Manager and Business Controlling team in a timely manner in accordance with reporting deadlines

The Ideal Person for the National Sales Manager
-
Must have proven track record of people management within the medical sector
-
HND/degree level, ideally in Science or Engineering
-
A strong background in dealing with clients at a high level
-
Working knowledge and experience of sales within the medical field
-
Experience within the Cardiovascular and/or ICU field would be a distinct advantage
-
Experience of managing and coaching others
-
Strong analytical and negotiation skills
-
Demonstrable experience of budget/forecasting/financial acumen
-
High level of demonstrable commercial acumen
-
Proven successful sales background with hands-on approach to "lead by example"
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
IT proficient: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
